Treacle Moon - The Candy Jar, Marsh Mallow Hearts

Have you ever wondered what heaven smells like? Well, I think I've found it! Allow me to introduce you to this offering from Treacle Moon. Within the last few months they've released The Candy Jar collection - a selection of wonderful smells that you'll remember for your childhood.

This creamy liquid is lilac in colour and is named 'Marsh Mallow Hearts' is a bath and shower gel; meaning you get an amazing body wash in the shower and millions of lovely bubbles in the bath.

Now onto the smell...
Ooooh the smell. It's absolutely out of this world. It smells identical to the Lucky Charms cereal we remember from back in the day, as well as it's new popularity on import from America. There's no other way that I can describe it. Although, the strange thing is... they smell how Lucky Charms taste. I don't think Lucky Charms actually smell of anything, but this shower gel smells like they taste, does that make any sense?

Anyway, this is my holy grail shower product and I'm hoping Treacle Moon keep making this long enough so I can get a few back ups. I haven't tried any of the other scents from the 'Candy Jar' range, but I've smelt them and they all smell gorgeous. I hope to try them some day.

You can get Treacle Moon from Tesco for £2.99.

Lush Hair Extensions 18" Ultimate Full Head Remy Human Hair Extensions #613 Bleach Blonde

The lovely folk over at Lush Hair Extensions were kind enough to send me over a set of hair extensions for review. This set is the 18" Ultimate Full Head Remy Human Hair set and I got them in the shade #613 Bleach Blonde. "Wait! Your hair is pink!" I hear you cry, well I got them in bleach blonde so that I could easily dye them to match my hair colour.
Before I get started, here's a photo of me with the extensions in -

The first thing I noticed when I took these extensions out of the packaging is just how soft and shiny they are. They felt exactly like my own hair, which of course is amazing if you're trying to match up your real hair to the extensions. You get ten wefts with a different number of clips on each weft. There are 2 three clip wefts, 2 four clip wefts, 4 two clip wefts (at different sizes) and 2 one clip wefts.
All the wefts. I didn't dye the 1 clip wefts as I wouldn't use them.

The first thing I had to conquer with these extensions is dying them. If you are planning on getting extensions and want to dye them with La Riche Directions hair dye, I would definitely recommend getting a bleach blonde set as the colour sticks so much better with bleach.

Here is the colour of the extensions when I first received them.

Here is how I dyed my extensions -

  • Get a piece of foil that is larger than the weft you're going to dye.
  • Lay the weft on the foil and spray with water to saturate the hair.
  • Apply the hair dye with a brush and make sure everything is covered.
  • Turn them over and brush the dye on the other side.
  • Make sure to get under the clips too!
  • I then laid the weft in the foil in the bath.
  • Repeat with the rest of the extensions.
  • Leave them to for around 15-45 minutes.
  • Wash them with a mild shampoo & conditioner.
  • Hang them up to dry! Viola!
They took the dye brilliantly and match my hair almost perfectly. Yay!

Once your extensions are dry you can then straighten them, curl them etc, but take extra care when you do just to be on the safe side. It's then time to clip them into your hair! I like to backcomb the roots when I'm going to apply the extensions so that the clips have a little bit extra to grab onto.
Here is the order I apply them to the hair -
  • Back of the head from bottom to top - 3 clip, 4clip, 4 clip, 3 clip.
  • Side of the head - all four of the 2 clips.
I didn't dye the one clip extensions because there just wasn't anywhere to fit them in my hair without them being noticeable.
You get a LOT of hair in these Ultimate sets. 190 grams in the 18" version to be exact. Obviously it will be heavier for longer sets. It's a lot of hair and takes a bit of getting used to, but they feel secure and eventually feel like your own hair. They didn't itch neither which is amazing!

As you can see... you get a LOT of hair!

What else can I say about these extensions? I love them. They do everything I want them to do. They feel exactly how I want them to feel and they look how I want them to look! Perfection!

Before and after.

The Ultimate sets are available in a range of colours and lengths and range from £84.99 - £109.99 depending on length. You can get them from here - lushhairextensions.co.uk

MAC Illustrated Bag 2 Indie 184

I received a very interesting parcel a few days ago. I was after a new cosmetics bag for my work bag for a while now as the one I have is quite bulky and sort of square in shape, making it a bit difficult to get everything in my bag. When I saw that MAC had come out with the Illustrated series of cosmetics bags, they just seemed to fit the bill. Big enough to fit all the bits in that I need, but thin enough to not take up half my bag space.

The Illustrated series is compiled by two different artists, Anja Kroencke and NYC graffiti artist Indie 184. Although Anja's bags were really nice, I knew that I had to have one of the Indie 184 bags. I decided on Bag 2 as I loved the design.

Let's take a look at it up close -

Here is the box. As you can see it's got the same design on it as the bag. A really nice little touch.

The inside of the box features the print from other Indie 184 Bag 1!

Here's the cosmetics bag itself.

Up close of the print.

MAC on the zip.

The inside of the bag again features the print from Bag 1.

A nice little pocket inside too!

I love this cosmetics bag. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with is the fact that the print on the bag isn't quite as vibrant as I'd hoped it would be.

These bags retail at £22 from maccosmetics.co.uk

Victoria's Secret in Meadowhall, UK

So today I took my first ever trip into a Victoria's Secret store. In the UK we're really behind with the whole VS thing. I believe we only currently have four stores open with another in Leeds opening soon. The store in Meadowhall opened last week and I couldn't wait for my next day off from work to go and have a look around.

I can't say that their bras impressed me much, mainly because their cup sizes just don't go up to fit me. Damn. Thankfully they had the much hyped beauty & fragrance section! I'll admit that having not really looked up prices of VS products before, I was a little shocked at the prices of some of their items. Victoria's Secret is not a cheap place to shop. The body washes, body butters, body sprays etc are all 5 for £30. When they retail at around £12 each it seems like a good deal... that is until you look at the price they pay in the USA. 5 for $30... which when converted means that folks in the States are only paying around £19 for the same items we're paying £30 for! I can't say I'm very impressed with that, BUT the products are really nice. A personal favourite scent in their body products is Mango Temptation. Of course, I'm always a sucker for Mango.

I also fell in love with one of their perfumes called Sexy Little Things Noir, but again we are paying more for it. The 50ml version is £38 and in the States it is $45 (or £29) so of course that is disappointing, but I think the fragrance is next on my to buy list.

Anyay, I bought once item from my visit to the Meadowhall Victoria's Secret store.

It came in this gorgeous bag.

This is an amazing little set of products! I went for the Pure Seduction scent. It's a lovely red plum and sweet freesia scent. You get a body wash, body lotion and body spray & the lovely pink cosmetics bag for £20!

Here's a close up of the cosmetics bag.

These are smaller in size than the normal bottles, but they're a great way to try them out.

I just got out of the shower after using the body wash and WOW! It smells so amazing.

I urge everyone to go and take a look around Victoria's Secret... and have a giggle at how long the receipt is.

Retail Royalty Challenge - Netherlands Dog Rescure

I've recently been taking part in the Money Supermarket Retail Royalty Challenge. The basic idea of the challenge is Money Supermarket give bloggers £30 to spend on a local charity of our choice.
Having just lost my beautiful dog, Pennie, the Netherlands Dog Rescue seemed like the obvious choice. The rescue is located close to where I live and they save dogs from being put to sleep in local dog pounds. So clearly it's a great cause. I emailed them to find out what items they would like to receive. They replied with dog toys and coats are always welcome.

As dog coats are quite expensive it limited what I could spend on toys, but here's what I bought -
I tried to buy packs with more than one item in them, but I think the fact that my dog Lyla has been trying to steal all of these toys is a good sign!

Then I bought this coat. I ordered it from online in a size XL. I assumed that like most dog clothing I've seen before XL wouldn't be all that XL, but this is huge! I'm so glad as it seems like most of the dogs at the dog rescue are large dogs. I hope this comes in handy during the winter months.

I genuinely hope these items make the dogs at the rescue giddy and warm.

Lexi wig from Wonderland Wigs

Ladies and gents (maybe), allow me to introduce you to the Lexi wig from WonderlandWigs.com.

As you can see, it's an absolutely gorgeous dark purple colour with a lovely lilac shade underneath it. It comes pre-styled in gorgeous loose curls and is perfect if you fancy the beach-look. It also features a finge/bangs which can be swept to either side or can just be kept in the middle if you so wish.
The colour and style are just beautiful and so 'me' as I love dying my hair weird and wonderful colours. I've actually had my hair this colour before but it just never seemed to last as long as I'd like... now I can just throw on this wig if the moment takes me!
These wigs are made out of 100% Kanekalon synthetic fibre. Don't worry though! I know I've said the dreaded word 'synthetic', but you don't need to worry about these wigs looking shiny or or obviously fake. The fibre is soft, feels almost exactly like real hair and it has just the right amount of shine to allow you to get away with it.

So, if you're off out on a hen party and fancy some weird coloured hair OR if you just fancy a change, Wonderland Wigs is a great place to start... and better yet, the price! I've seen wigs that are terrible quality retail for more than these gems. This Lexi wig for example retails for only £25.99. Good, eh?

If you'd like to check out this wig you can check it out here!

JustCurvy.com Peacock feather dress

I've been a big fan of high-low dresses for a while now, but I could never seem to find one that suited me so when I was offered the chance to review a dress from JustCurvy.com I jumped at the chance! I picked out this dress and I'm so glad that I did. The dress is by AX Paris, but is currently on sale on the Just Curvy site.

It's a gorgeous silky material with peacock feathers over it. The length at the back is perfect for me (I'm around 5'6"-ish, I think) and I love the high bit at the front because it's also a perfect length. It sits just bellow the knee with an underskirt a little higher.

It's the perfect summer dress for those who fancy something a little bit different to maxi dresses. Having worn this in the sun, I can confirm that it's lovely and cool in the heat.

Here's my OOTD video featuring the dress -

Please vote for me :)

Hello everyone! I'm taking part in a competition that's being put on by La Riche - the brand that I use for my hair dye and I would really appreciate it if you could just take a second to vote for me at this link - http://www.lariche.co.uk/summer-festival/view-entries/P60#.UdBCy_nrxe8

Thanks guys!

Bdellium Amazon.co.uk Exclusive Precision Kabuki Brush

Hello everyone. Today I'll be talking about this brush that I picked up from Amazon.co.uk. When I bought it the price was £6.50 with free shipping, but since has gone up to £10.50 from a private seller. Probably just a case of Amazon selling out for the minute.

Anyway, this brush comes with beautiful purple synthetic bristles and black handle with a anodized aluminium ferrule.

The read up on the back of the packaging.

Upon opening the package, I was actually surprised at how nice the brush felt. I expected it to feel really cheap, but actually it wasn't half bad.

As you can see, there are a couple of flyaway bristles, but nothing too bad.

It's also quite dense and really soft.

As of yet, I haven't used the brush, but will do a blog post once I've tried it if anyone is interested?

Simply Be Blogger Takeover Dresses Review!

Today I'll be talking about the Simply Be Bloggers Takeover dresses! This was such a unique idea from Simply Be to ask some popular bloggers to design dresses for them. When I first heard about it I got excited.. and then I saw the dresses and fell completely in love. They are three very different dresses that will appeal to most, or at least one will.

Let's take a closer look...

This is THE dress that I knew I just had to have. The design is so unique, but subtle enough for anyone to wear. It's a skater dress with just the right amount of pleats around the skirt part. It comes to the knee on me, making it the idea length. The bust in complimented by a flattering cut and ruffles. Another good thing about this dress is... It has sleeves! I think far too many dresses these days don't have sleeves and for someone who likes to cover up a little, this is perfect. I love the colours and the fabric is really nice quality; it's stretchy too so I would advise going for your true size on this one.

First of all, please excuse the non-matching trainers in this photo. This dress is really nice, don't get me wrong, but I think it's the one that doesn't suit me and my style. I like to be weird and wonderful and I think this dress doesn't really match that. It features a coral wrap around design at the top and a really nice mesh, floaty skirt part. I think the reason I probably wouldn't wear this dress is because I'm quite self conscious about my boobs and showing them off. I'm not one of those people who enjoys getting stared at for my big boobs when I've got my cleavage out and this dress certainly shows it off, but hey if you've got it and you want to flaunt it then this dress is for you!

This one's a really unique one. It's sort of a midi dress shape with with a little twist. It sort of reminds me of one of the Beth Ditto at Evans dresses she brought out (which to this day is still one of my favourite dresses ever) but without the pockets. The cut of the dress is really nice and it has ruffles at the side on the hips and down the thighs. The print of this dress is peacock and I must say the colours are perfect. Pink and teal are possibly my favourite colours ever so yay!

So, the summarise I think this is such a great idea on Simply Be's part and enables us to buy dresses that are much more unique and who doesn't want to own a dress designed by their favourite blogger?!

Bravo Simply Be!

Yves Rocher Order - £35 product for free!

Today I got home from my little rural trip to North Yorkshire to find a package from Yves Rocher. I was emailed about this amazing offer a few days before setting off and couldn't say no. The offer was - your first item FREE. At first I thought the free item would be the cheapest thing, but no! Any item that you placed in your basket was your free item. So, here's what I decided to get -

When I first saw the Retropical line, I instantly knew that I'd love the scent and I was right! It's just pure tropical goodness and this is both a hair and body wash, obviously I won't be able to use it for my hair (colour treated and all that) but it smells amazing for a body wash.

Then I got the Retropical eyeshadow trio. Yves Rocher eyeshadows are usually pretty expensive and in comparison I think this works out as a better buy, plus the colours are pretty.

Here's a swatch of all the colours. I love them!

This is the product I picked as my free item. It's the Anti-Aggressions 24-Hour Antioxidant Shield Serum. At an RRP of £35, you'd hope it'd be brilliant. Here's hoping! It's a rather nice feeling serum which is supposed to protect your skin against pollution. I'll probably do a review on this once I've tried it out for a few weeks.

Ruralness in North Yorkshire

I'm currently on a weeks holiday in a small village near Pickering. It's literally in the middle of nowhere, which means... no phone signal. This in normal cases would mean I'd be going insane, but thankfully the cottage we're staying in has wi-fi, well... in the dining room there is wi-fi, which can be a bit of a pain, because I need to sit in the dining room to Tweet, to blog, to go on Facebook... anything!
But I'm actually really enjoying it! I never thought I'd enjoy it as much as I am doing. For the past three days it's been raining and miserable, but I love it! Thunder and lightning and all.
Lyla is missing Pennie quite a bit and she's a little unsettled, but she's slowly calming down, thankfully.

I've taken a few photos while I've been here and here they go!

On Saturday. Simply Be Bloggers Takeover dress! <3 amp="" extreme="" largeness="" name="" necklace="" p="">
