Random post - WWE, being a girl & Wrestlemania

I know this isn't what I usually update about, but I started typing and this happened...

The week started out in the early hours of Monday morning, well 12am to be exact when Wrestlemania began. Being female and being a wrestling fan often gets you either a) picked on because it's not 'girly' (I've had this my entire life) or b) the male wrestling fans will look down on you like you know nothing because wrestling is a 'male sport' despite the fact that there is a whole division dedicated to women who wrestle. This is why I'm thankful for the few males friends I have that I can have a decent indepth conversation about wrestling with.
I've been watching it since I was four years old... In other words, I know my stuff and it's nice to have conversations where the 'fake' factor doesn't come into it. Where you both know and understand that, yes, while wrestling can be scripted and the winner is always predetermined, it is still a great for of entertainment. It's like watching Eastenders with big sweaty men. Nice.
So, what did I make of Wrestlemania? There were some good points and there were some bad. The highlight of the show for me was always going to be CM Punk vs The Undertaker. It's a clash of childhood me and current me. 'Taker was around when I was four.. with his grey leather gloves. Then the purple ones with his mask. Oh yeah, and not forgetting the time when there were two Undertaker's. Yeah, wrestling is stupid. A place where someone can come in and steal your identity without people realising. Again ,that's another reason why it's like Eastenders. Ian Beales daughter for example. Surely he'd pick up on the fact that she clearly wasn't the same person. Oh no, not in soap land!

Anyway, I had a feeling in my bones that Punk was going to be the one to beat the streak, but sadly I was wrong. Deep down I knew it wasn't going to happen. Undertakers streak = DVD sales. Roll on 25-0 the DVD. Vince will be rubbing his hands together with dollar signs in his eyes.

I felt as though since losing the belt Punk has been loosing steam. The feud with 'Taker would've been enough to push him to the BIG times. Even people who don't watch wrestling know about 'the streak' and I believe that Punk needed that win. Sure, he still gets the crowds chanting his name even though he's a heel, but I just can't see a direction for him to go in now. Who can he feud with? WWE have said they've finished up the Cena feud, so that means no more title shots for a while, but with the possibility of Cena turning heel (If that EVER happens) who do the WWE have? It wasn't long ago they said they didn't have enough decent heels, but now I think they have too many and not enough faces that the crowd can really get behind. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Punk as a heel, but a face turn would be something to really get the steam rolling again. My opinion.

There were few other matches that actually caught my attention. FaaannnDaaannnGoooo certainly didn't deserve to win over Y2J on the grand Wrestlemania stage. Someone said recently 'Jericho loves losing. He's got that used to making other people look good he just doesn't know when to stop' and it's true! I'd love to see Jericho  win some matches and maybe have another title reign before he retires into the Hall Of Fame.

HHH vs Brock was predictable and didn't really keep my attention all that much and to be honest, neither did Cena vs Rock Part 2. It was clear that super Cena was going to win this time around, but as there were rumours floating around of a possible heel turn I stayed watching only to see the exact opposite. Rock & Cena on the ramp holding up each others hands. Every chance for Cena to clock Rock in the face with the belt, but no. It was entirely too nice if you ask me. I used to love the surprise heel turn moments, but there doesn't seem to be that many anymore. Even Punk's heel turn was very slow and not obvious for a few weeks.

I just think the event could have been so much better. The Miz winning the IC title on the Pre-Show and then losing it the night after. What's the point in that? I think the creative team need to sort their act out and give us some decent storylines. No, this isn't the Attitude era, but surely there are better writers out there than this?

Oh, and the following night's RAW was around a million times better than Wrestlemania itself. The crowd MADE that show. The cheering as Ziggler won the belt were epic. I hadn't heard a crowd like that since Punk won the WWE Championship in front of his home crowd at Money In The Bank. Amazing.

The night after 'mania... sporting CM Punk t-shirt & hoodie and looking understandably tired -

I also feel like I need to post this... Chris formerly of Editors chats about Wrestlemania. Could this be more perfect?

Nails Inc Feathers Collection - Cornwall

While I was browsing on Very the other day my attention was grabbed by these brand new nail polishes from Nails Inc. I hadn't seen any promo for them so they took my by surprise. I searched for swatches online and grinned to myself when I saw what this one looked like on. I added it to my basket and bought it, already excited about it arriving.

Here is what the wonderful 'Cornwall' nail polish looks like. The feather effect sort of reminds me of certain types of glitter nail polishes - the one's with long, slim pieces of glitter in it. The only difference is these have matte colours instead of glitter. Beaut. The bottle is also one of the nicest I've seen on a nail polish in a long time. It features a bird surrounded by white feathers. It looks really unique and grabs your attention straight away.

Here is what the feather effect polish looks like on the nails. I applied it over the top of Poolside Party by Headline Colors. I really love how it looks. I'm quite tempted to add a few more layers to see what it looks like. The only drawback I can see is the same issue I have with some glitter polishes and that is sometimes the pieces hang over the edge of your nail and catch on everything. It's easily sorted though so it's not a big deal.
Overall, I really like this polish and will get a lot of use out of it.

Yankee Candle

Today the post has been quite interesting and very Yankee Candle-y.
On the left we have a small jar of Sparkling Lemon. This one if a good one, mainly because it was a freebie. If you have ever shopped on very.co.uk before you may (or may not) know about 'Treats' that they have every month. Treats are freebies that Very send you if you make an order and enter a certain code. It was a random choice of which candle they sent you and I must admit, I'm really happy with this scent! It's really fresh and light.
The big candle is Bunny Cake. This is one of the Easter scents that Yankee Candle have produced for 2013. I love it's pink colouring and the scent... oh my word... It's a gorgeous coconut, vanilla cakey kind of smell. I have it burning now and it's completely filling the room. I wasn't expecting this one to be quite a strong as it is. Mmmmm. I ordered this from halfpriceyankeecandle.co.uk. I was a little nervous about ordering from this website because it seemed a little bit unprofessional, but as you pay through Paypal, I thought I could claim the money back if I paid and nothing arrived. The candle arrived in a timely fashion and well packaged too, but best of all a lot cheaper than in stores! I may also have ordered the other Easter 2013 candle by Yankee called Chocolate Bunnies, which was a scent from last year too, I believe. I'll make a post once that arrives.
At the bottom we have a tart called Mountain Berry which is a USA exclusive scent. I really wish we could get this one over here, because the jars cost so much money on postage! The scent it one that really appeals to me. Lovely berries and a little bit of a sweet edge to it. I managed to grab this tart from eBay for a couple of quid.

Snow, Philosophy & Garnier

Well, here we go again, I'm back to give this blog a bit of love. So, today I woke up to find that everything was white over, but everything was sunny, so surely it wouldn't be long before it all melted, right? Nah, the weather at the moment is completely all over the place and in a matter of minutes it went from sunny to blizzard conditions. After about half an hour it was back to being sunny. The weather at the moment is so weird. One good thing about the weather is the fact that dogs love snow.

Anyway, once the snow subsided I went out to Meadowhall. I popped into Boots and spied that their Philosophy Christmas items were on sale at half price. They had a few good ones like Candy Cane and Eggnog, but I decided on Holly Berry Bubbly.
£7
This smells like a gorgeous mismash of wonderful berries. Although it's a Christmas scent, I don't think it smells that festive. I think that's why I decided on this one. The Eggnog & Candy Cane both smelt very Christmassy. I previously bought 'Have A Cherry Christmas' which was a very strong smelling sweet cherry scent. It was iridescent pink colour and is such a lovely shower gel. Holly Berry Bubbly is a bubble bath and has no iridescence to it. It looks a lot thinner in consistency than the cherry one, but I am going to give it a go as a shower gel too. We'll see how it goes!

£5.99
I also picked up one of the new Garnier Moisture Match moisturisers. This range caters for all skin types, whether your skin is oily, dry, dull or normal, you can find an item to suit your skin type. I went for the Mattifying Fresh Cream which is for Combination/Oily skin. My skin is a bit all over the place really. Some times it's very dry and others it's quite oily. Most of the time it's slightly oily so I went for this one. It smells really fresh and sinks into skin really nicely. We'll see how it works.

That's all for today folks!

MoneySupermarket's Secret Santa

I was contacted a few weeks ago by a lovely chap at MoneySupermarket asking me if I wanted to take part in a bloggers secret Santa event. They would pair up bloggers and send them both £25 to spend on a gift for the other person. I thought it sounded like a novel idea and having never took part in a Secret Santa before, I thought 'why the heck not'. There was an added incentive of possibly winning an iPad - pretty nice eh?

I was paired with Tim over at MildConcern.com. I'll admit this came as a bit of a shock for both me and him. I talk about cosmetics and fashion. Tim reviews and chats about films. I've been on MildConcern.com and I must admit, I've found myself chuckling and thoroughly enjoying reading entries on the site, but everyone likes films, right? I wonder what Tim must've thought when he saw my screen name and then actually saw what my blog was all about. I highly doubt he finds anything of interest in my entries about MAC Cosmetics and the latest collection at Evans! It appears as though perhaps MoneySupermarket just saw that he reviewed films and I had the word 'Film' in my screen name. Perfect match, obviously!

I have come to the conclusion that buying a gift for someone who you've never met is almost impossible. I found myself browsing online shops with a blank face. If I end up buying something for him that gives him even a mere seconds worth of entertainment, I will class it as a success. Tim, I apologise in advance.

Tesco F+F True Plus Size AW 2012 Range - They want your opinions!

Hey everyone! First, I need to say sorry for the static in the voice recording of this video. I don't have a professional mic so it doesn't sound too great.
Anyway, today I'll be talking about the brand new Clothing at Tesco F+F Autumn / Winter 2012 range that should be hitting their website next week.

I like a few of the pieces, but think I'd need to try them on first before buying them.

Here's the good part... They want YOUR opinion on these photos too. Will this collection make you take a closer look at clothing at Tesco?  Was there a piece you loved? A piece you hated? Let them know! Now's your chance :)
