LookFantastic.com 3 for £50 offer... plus loads of freebies included!

I received an email this morning that was far too tempting to turn down! The email was from LookFantastic.com with a special offer that made me think 'Wow. Take my Paypal payment right now!!!'
The offer? 3 for £50 on a bunch of high price tag items. Now, 3 for £50 at first glance might sound a little high, but some of the brands that are included are really high end and fancy. Also in the email was another special offer where if you spend £50 you get a free HD Brows Eyeshadow palette worth £30. I believe that the offer of the free palette is exclusive to people that are signed up to their mailing list. As well as that, if you spend over £50 you get a free 'premier skincare sample'.
Sounds like you get a lot already, right?  Well, I just got an extra product for FREE! Yup, free. How?! I hear you cry... well, it's all down to the brand you pick to buy and the offers that run side by side.
The brand Alterna are currently on offer on Look Fantastic at 3 for 2 and quite a few items are also in the 3 for £50 offer. I knew that I wanted the Bumble & Bumble Thickening Shampoo, so I added that to my basket and spied a couple of Alterna products that I fancied. Then a thought occured to me... 'I wonder if I can add another Alterna product to my basket for the 3 for 2 offer. Low and behold, IT WORKED! So, I ended up with 3 for £50... then an added extra free Alterna product, the HD Brows palette & an Eve Lom Cleanser & Muslin cloth.
I'm not sure if the Alterna offer & the 3 for £50 offer are meant to work together, but if you want the products, it's definitely worth trying out!

Not only that... but if you use a cashback site like Quido (where you can earn money by just doing your normal internet shopping) can get some cashback too! Not joined up to Quidco yet? Go here (You get £2 cashback just for joining up!)

Here's what I ended up ordering & how much I paid. For some reason it came to a little more than £50, but with all the stuff I got I can't complain at all!

Needless to say... I'm pretty happy with this purchase! Share this page with your friends to spread the word of this offer. I'm not sure how long it's on for, but grab it while you can!

Primark pick ups!

I picked this up from Primark in Meadowhall. How could I not?! I mean... look at it! I absolutely adore these branded t-shirts that Primark get in. I always check out the womens and mens sections because they have some awesome shirts, including Despicable Me, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad etc. This one, however, features Homer Simpsons chowing down on a doughnut. I love the effect of this t-shirt and at £6 it's a complete steal!

Here's a t-shirt that I picked up from the mens section. I saw the pattern and thought that it was so 'me''. It features these pinky, purpley, bluey paint splatters all over it. This was only £4. Bargain.

Yours Clothing Magenta & Black Rose Flocked Skater Dress

I spied this dress in Yours Clothing quite a few times over the last month or so. I see it when I'm walking to work and when I'm leaving work and it always caught my eye. It's a gorgeous fuchsia with flocked roses. I held off buying it or trying it on because I assumed that the fabric would be quite heavy and stiff, meaning that it would hang strangely, but I'm SO glad that I finally tried it on today. The fabric feels lovely and it hangs beautifully. It comes with a shiny black belt which cinches you in under the bust. My favourite thing about this dress has to be how it fits on the top. It is perfect.

I made an order with Yours on Friday night and I'm waiting for my order to arrive. I'd had my eye on this coat for a while, but at £65 I thought it was a little expensive, but now that it's in the sale at just £25, I couldn't say no! It's one of those coats where I'm not sure if it will look as nice on as it does on the photo, but we'll see when it arrives! My size is now out of stock so I feel lucky to have got one winging its way to me!

I haven't blogged in a loooong time, but I'm back again. Hello!

Boux Avenue

Boux Avenue is a gorgeous boutique style lingerie shop that has several stores located all over the UK, as well as selling their wears online. You may very well know of the owner of Boux Avenue from Dragon's Den. Yes, Theo Paphitis.
If you get a chance to go into one of their stores I highly recommend it! Firstly, let's start with the smell. Without fail it smells amazing. The goods are set out beautifully and the staff always seem happy to help. Think along the lines of Victoria's Secret, but one of the things that makes Boux Avenue stand out is the fact it stocks bigger bra sizes! Yes, some bras go up to a size 40G! Praise the lingerie lord!

Here are a few things I adore -
I've had a couple of these bra's in the past and I have to say that I love them. They fit me perfectly in my size and isn't the design just darling? They have beautiful lace pattern with bows in the middle and on the straps. I regularly find it difficult to find bras that don't make my boobs look an odd shape, but with this bra, I never had that problem. Available in a load of colours... Well made too!

These are the shorts that go along with the Chloe bra. When I received these they were on offer where you could buy the bra & shorts for only £25! Bargain! These shorts are rather see-through, but they are so pretty. They also stock thongs if that's more your thing!

I'm all for comfort and you cannot get more comfortable than microfibre. These knickers are SO SOFT. They're a soft pink colour which is very pretty. Again, you can get different colours & thongs.

This wonderful little hand cream features one of the wonderful smells you're greeted with whenever you go into a Boux Avenue shop. I'm glad they made this scent into a hand cream because I'm a hand cream junkie! You only need to use a tiny amount too. Thumbs up.

This hot water bottle is just precious!! It's not too big, which is great and it looks like it's weird a little cricket jumper haha. I love it.

You can buy all these items at BouxAvenue.com or you can visit one of their stores in person.

FOTD - Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette

Yesterday I decided to use my favourite Sugarpill palette on my eyes, for the first time in ages! I used 2AM on the inner corner, Velocity on the middle of the lid and Acidberry on the outer corner.

Review - Michael Kors Nail Lacquer in the shade Envy

I bought this nail lacquer from the Escentual.com 25% off sale. I'll be the first to admit that I am a sucker for packaging and this nail polish is certainly something to behold. It features the signature gold with the screws.

I picked out the colour 'Envy' - a pinky purple colour that looks exactly the same colour in the bottle as it is on the nails. I found that it applied easily and was fully opaque in two coats. Wear time was decent, but didn't last quite as long as I would expect from a high end product, but it is still cheaper than the likes of Chanel etc at £15.

I'm glad  I got this with 25% off as I think it's worth what I paid for it, but don't think it would be worth the £15 price tag.

Where have I been? Sheffield Steelers and 2013 being a terrible year.

I haven't uploaded anything to this blog in months. Sometimes I just lose interest in writing & making YouTube videos and other times real life steps in and takes my attention away. This time it has sort of been a mixture of the two.  Anyone who's followed me on Twitter will possibly know that 2013 really was not a good year for me.. at all. My cousin was involved in a serious car accident, my gorgeous dog Pennie sadly had to be put to sleep, my uncle had a tumour, my aunty died of cancer and to top it all off my mum had a heartattack four days before Christmas. So yeah, life's not been easy, but I am thankful for some wonderful people in my life that helped me get through it and I'm also thankful for a wonderful sport which has actually done me the word of good.

I went to see the Sheffield Steelers years and years ago, but I think I was too young to really take in what was happening. Then there was a gap of around.. err.. 22 years before me and my mum decided to take a punt on going to the first game of the 2013-2014 season at the Motorpoint Arena.  All I can say is... where has this sport been all my life? I've never felt such a rush as I did at that first game and with each game that passes, the excitement just grows and grows. It's weird how I look back now and remember sitting there during the introductions thinking to myself 'I have no idea who any of these guys are.. I have no idea what the rules are... ARE THEY FIGHTING?!' and then compare it to how I am now. Yelling encouragement, joining in with the 'Whoosh' chant, owning jerseys of my favourite players, meeting the players and not being able to contain my excitement until the next game.

It's sad the end of the season is only a couple of months away, but thankfully I'll have a bit of a hockey fix when Team GB face the Netherlands at IceSheffiled in April.  At a charity event my mum and I attended we managed to bag ourselves two season tickets for next season for half the price of one season ticket in a charity auction, which Doug Christiansen himself said was 'a good move' & we, for some reason, got a round of applause from all the players.
I have only missed one home game and that was because I attended a friends wedding. I sadly haven't been able to attend any away games, but look forward to doing that next season.

The sport has also save me money.. weirdly. You'd think that going to a hockey game every week would leave you out of pocket, but somehow not me. I used to spend money like it was going out of fashion, but now my mind is in the mindset of 'Well... that £15 could buy me a ticket to the Steelers.. and I'd prefer to see the Steelers.' Do that a few times per shopping trip and you're saving a bunch of money.

I cannot wait until my mum is well enough to make her return to a hockey game. She's been missing it so much and she's hoping to make her return on Wednesday at the game against the Edinburgh Capitals. We'll see.

I'll leave you with a few of my favourite pics.

Treacle Moon - The Candy Jar, Marsh Mallow Hearts

Have you ever wondered what heaven smells like? Well, I think I've found it! Allow me to introduce you to this offering from Treacle Moon. Within the last few months they've released The Candy Jar collection - a selection of wonderful smells that you'll remember for your childhood.

This creamy liquid is lilac in colour and is named 'Marsh Mallow Hearts' is a bath and shower gel; meaning you get an amazing body wash in the shower and millions of lovely bubbles in the bath.

Now onto the smell...
Ooooh the smell. It's absolutely out of this world. It smells identical to the Lucky Charms cereal we remember from back in the day, as well as it's new popularity on import from America. There's no other way that I can describe it. Although, the strange thing is... they smell how Lucky Charms taste. I don't think Lucky Charms actually smell of anything, but this shower gel smells like they taste, does that make any sense?

Anyway, this is my holy grail shower product and I'm hoping Treacle Moon keep making this long enough so I can get a few back ups. I haven't tried any of the other scents from the 'Candy Jar' range, but I've smelt them and they all smell gorgeous. I hope to try them some day.

You can get Treacle Moon from Tesco for £2.99.

Lush Hair Extensions 18" Ultimate Full Head Remy Human Hair Extensions #613 Bleach Blonde

The lovely folk over at Lush Hair Extensions were kind enough to send me over a set of hair extensions for review. This set is the 18" Ultimate Full Head Remy Human Hair set and I got them in the shade #613 Bleach Blonde. "Wait! Your hair is pink!" I hear you cry, well I got them in bleach blonde so that I could easily dye them to match my hair colour.
Before I get started, here's a photo of me with the extensions in -

The first thing I noticed when I took these extensions out of the packaging is just how soft and shiny they are. They felt exactly like my own hair, which of course is amazing if you're trying to match up your real hair to the extensions. You get ten wefts with a different number of clips on each weft. There are 2 three clip wefts, 2 four clip wefts, 4 two clip wefts (at different sizes) and 2 one clip wefts.
All the wefts. I didn't dye the 1 clip wefts as I wouldn't use them.

The first thing I had to conquer with these extensions is dying them. If you are planning on getting extensions and want to dye them with La Riche Directions hair dye, I would definitely recommend getting a bleach blonde set as the colour sticks so much better with bleach.

Here is the colour of the extensions when I first received them.

Here is how I dyed my extensions -

  • Get a piece of foil that is larger than the weft you're going to dye.
  • Lay the weft on the foil and spray with water to saturate the hair.
  • Apply the hair dye with a brush and make sure everything is covered.
  • Turn them over and brush the dye on the other side.
  • Make sure to get under the clips too!
  • I then laid the weft in the foil in the bath.
  • Repeat with the rest of the extensions.
  • Leave them to for around 15-45 minutes.
  • Wash them with a mild shampoo & conditioner.
  • Hang them up to dry! Viola!
They took the dye brilliantly and match my hair almost perfectly. Yay!

Once your extensions are dry you can then straighten them, curl them etc, but take extra care when you do just to be on the safe side. It's then time to clip them into your hair! I like to backcomb the roots when I'm going to apply the extensions so that the clips have a little bit extra to grab onto.
Here is the order I apply them to the hair -
  • Back of the head from bottom to top - 3 clip, 4clip, 4 clip, 3 clip.
  • Side of the head - all four of the 2 clips.
I didn't dye the one clip extensions because there just wasn't anywhere to fit them in my hair without them being noticeable.
You get a LOT of hair in these Ultimate sets. 190 grams in the 18" version to be exact. Obviously it will be heavier for longer sets. It's a lot of hair and takes a bit of getting used to, but they feel secure and eventually feel like your own hair. They didn't itch neither which is amazing!

As you can see... you get a LOT of hair!

What else can I say about these extensions? I love them. They do everything I want them to do. They feel exactly how I want them to feel and they look how I want them to look! Perfection!

Before and after.

The Ultimate sets are available in a range of colours and lengths and range from £84.99 - £109.99 depending on length. You can get them from here - lushhairextensions.co.uk
